I’m a French expat living in the Gulf with my family for the past 4 years and counting. As most expats will tell you, it’s a strange and mesmerizing experience. I believe we are literally experiencing the birth of a nation (well, 6 countries, really) as they try to decide the path they wish to take.It’s sometimes funny, sometimes maddening. But let’s not forget that for most of us, we are here because it’s an opportunity to make some money and live a better life than at home.
After many years as a road warrior, I’ve finally settled down in Abu Dhabi, so I have more time to document what I see and experience.
The name RiyadhRoad is a tribute to my now thankfully past days driving weekly from Bahrain to Riyadh. Probably not the most dangerous road in the world, but up there in the top ten.
